Let's take a look at this bookshelf. It's got built in notches for Holy books such as the Qur'an and the Bible - but the idea is that the notches make the books all one level and equal. Get it? Get it?? So, you know, you can have furniture that tells your friends, "Look at my bookshelf. I have deep thoughts."
Speaking of furniture, our couch is getting delivered today! First couch I've ever actually bought from a store (and not given to me for free by friends). Very exciting.

Books aren't made to all be the same size - that is one of the awesome things about them. They are all different. Not digging it!

ReplyDeleteYay for the new couch! I bought a custom couch for the tiny apartment I lived in six months into my first job out of law school, and it made me feel like I had "arrived." Also not digging the bookshelf, but I like the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even realize that that was the whole idea behind it. But then again, I didn't ever look at the picture large enough (I've seen it before) to see what books were actually on the shelf. Honestly, I think the idea only works for the person who came up with the idea, anyone else is just trying too hard.

ReplyDeleteI do not at all like when the books are "even" in the bookshelf. I like piles of books, different sizes next to each other, a blur of bookish delight! How exiting about that couch! picture please. I just got a couch I LOVE yesterday. used, but exactly how I want it!! and in very good condition. First couch We actually paid for :)
