Layla: I'M GOING TO DIE. THIS IS THE LAST DAY OF MY LIFE. HOW CAN I ESCAPE??
Me: Want a treat?
Layla: Well. Yes. Yum.

Layla: I shall bare my teeth to show you how incredibly distasteful I find this experience.
Me: Layla, I know for an absolute fact that you will not bite me. Sit still.

Layla: I curse the day you were born.

Layla: HA! You loosened your grip and I was waiting for this moment! I SHALL ESCAPE!!!
Me: Layla, no. Stay.

Me: See? That wasn't so bad. Here's another treat.
Layla: I will take this treat. However, I vow to hate you forever.
Why do doggie nail clippers have to look like medieval torture devices and why do dogs have to act like they are actually getting tortured by them?

Awww, poor pup. My mom always asks the vet to clip our dog's nails - now I know why ;)
ReplyDeletePoor Layla! It's for her own good though. She doesn't want to mistakenly hurt anyone if her nails are too long. Speaking of which, my moms dog is due for a clipping. He's the sweetest, but when he playfully pounces on people, he ends up scratching them!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Zeus and Cicada are the same way. It's always a struggle to get them to stay still for nail clipping. Heck, even bathes are awful. Darn dogs.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! All dogs hate getting their nails clipped. I have to take my dog to the groomers because she will absolutely freak out and not let me get anywhere close to her with the clippers. Not even for cheese - that's major.

Poor doggy! And poor you for having to put up with it! I'm so glad my cats all use their scratching posts, because clipping their nails is just as difficult as dogs!
