Okay, I know my posts have taken a lean towards decorating lately but since that's what I think about, that's what I write.
So, I found this photo on houzz.com today:
And i LOVE the shutters as a headboard. What I don't quite understand is the execution.
How are they put up there? What do you think?
Are you liking the shutters? Or would you go for something more modern in the bedroom?

I definitely like the shutters, although I don't think I would take them quite as high as they have them. Great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI think this headboard is really cute! Not sure how they put them up on the wall, though . . .
ReplyDeleteI like the shutters as a headboard! I actually think she should be a little lower down though, it seems like they're towering over the bed! Maybe they screwed them right into the wall? Or maybe attached hooks or a board to the backs of the shutters and then bolted those to the wall?
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love the shutters ideas. It makes me think of a bungalow in the tropics for some reason - very cute! :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's one of those door shutters so it reaches the floor so it's easier for it to be against the wall? But I do like the look of it!
ReplyDeleteCuteness! DIY idea?

I love that idea! You know those little things they give you when you buy a bookshelf to affix it to the wall so that it doesn't tip over? Well, that would probably work great for these! Unfortunately I'm not sure what the "little things" are called, but whenever I go to a hardware store or Lowe's, the employees are super helpful and seem to know just what I'm trying to describe. :) That will look so cute!
ReplyDeletei like it. the whole style of the room works. also love tufted headboards.
ReplyDeleteI love your inspiration picture, it's lovely. Have you tried googling it to see if there are any tutorials out there? Or maybe the image source? If not those things, then maybe some of those triangle hooks, or nail brackets, nailed on and hung on the wall like that? I'm sure if you asked a hardware store employee they'd be able to steer you in the right direction!
ReplyDeleteI love it!!! Of course I have no idea how you'd execute it but I see that others have given you some wonderful ideas luckily. Good luck with it! :)
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to do this! Not exactly like in the picture, but I also saw one where they used half of an old wooden door! Super cute!
ReplyDeleteWonderful colour on the walls, we had this exact colour in our living room in London. Basement flat so really lightened it up (with Asian wood furniture and silver lamps...
ReplyDeletethat is a really original idea!
ReplyDeletethat is a neat and creative idea as a baseboard!
ReplyDeleteThe shutters are cute! I like the shabby/chic look1

woah! what an awesome idea! love it. keep the decorating tips coming :)
ReplyDeletei think that it would depend on the decor of the rest of the room. but i want to make a new headboard for my room. personally - and for the decor of my room - this wouldn't fit it... but i do love it. it's super vintage and chic looking. i love it!!
